The Histiocytosis Research Trust is deeply saddened to report that our much loved co-founder Dr Jon Pritchard passed away in January 2007 following a long illness.  It is true to say that without Jon's tireless enthusiasm and incredibly imaginative ideas, the Trust would never have been created and we would not have raised anywhere near enough money to fund research projects currently underway.   He comforted and inspired a great many people during his life, we are all extremely sad to have lost  a great colleague and friend.

The Trust earlier announced that all of our future grants will be made under the new title of "The Jon Pritchard Award for Histiocytosis Research".  The announcement was made during the 2006 Nikolas Symposium and will apply to all future research awards, it is in recognition of Jon's hard work and his dedication to the aims of the Trust - and his determination to find a rational cure for Histiocytosis.
