Many thanks to the staff and customers of Essex bakery, Humes of Halstead Limited,who have raised a fantastic £400 after donating 2p from the purchase of every carrier bag during the last 12 months.

Ann Hume said: "We select a different charity each year and are pleased to help, in a very small way, to make life just that little better for young people."

2011 

STAFF at YPO, Walkefield have raised £346 after taking part in a five-a-side football match and selling damaged washing powder. Fantastic!

WELL Done to Owen Thoms who has raised £483 after completing the Junior Great North Run in 19 minutes and 27 seconds. A fantastic result considering Owen had refereed two football matches before the run. Brilliant!

ANNE Devenney is seen here with her Stars of Histio cape which she wore while participating in the Great North Run recently. As well as raising awareness, Anne raised a fantastic £300.

WELL done to Joe Elliott who raised an amazing £4,000 from a curry evenng he held at at a restaurant near his home in Southend-on-Sea.  Approximately 110 people attended the event, contributed to a raffle and took part in an auction which raised £1600! Prizes included a four night stay at a cottage in Devon and a lesson piloting a helicopter.

LISA Wolf, Sherrie Bennett and their 11-year-old niece Megan raised a fantastic £500 after taking part in the Adidas 5K Women's Challenge in London's Hyde Park. Lisa completed the run in 34 minutes and 15 seconds whilst Sherrie and Megan completed it in 49 minutes and 42 seconds.

BRETT Hill and friends have raised an amazing £3,096 after taking part in a sponsored coast to coast cycle ride in June. The group cycled from Workington to Rocke Pier, Sunderland.

Brett can been seen here with his children Katie and Josh.

Mum Kathryn said: "We have had amazing support with our fundraising and I would like to thank everybody."

ANNE Devenney cuddles up to special guest Woody at a disco organised to raise funds for the Trust.

The evening, which featured local singer Rebekah Ryan, raised a fantastic £345 and was organised by Michael Chater. Michael has also organised a Zumbathon.

Anne said: "The evening was a big success.The room was quite small but was packed with people all now aware of the Trust and Cameron's Smile. They had a local singer who has done quite well and she said that she would help us in any way she can."

STAFF from Yorkshire-based YPO have raised £1,295 after taking part in a Coast to Coast 125 mile sponsored cycle ride from Morcambe to Filey.

The group, which included Anne Devenney's sister Carole Furlong, were raising funds on behalf of the Trust via Cameron's Smile.  Anne said: "It is amazing what they have done!"

DEVOTED Dad Nick Randall has built the Sue Randall Memorial Chopper (seen below) to showcase at motorcycle shows throughout Wales to celebrate the life of his 17-year-old daughter.

Daughter Sue, who was a keen motorcycle enthusiast, died of HLH in 2009. To date Nick has raised £150 from showcasing the bike at the No Bull just Beer and Bikes and The Grinning Idiots Sixth Bike Shows. He also was awarded a trophy at the Brynmawr Motorcycle and Car Club show.

 CHILDREN'S favourite Iggle Piggle took part in the Great Midland's Fun Run and raised over £400 for The Trust.

John Devenney wore the 6ft costume throughout the run. He was joined by wife, Anne, seen below.

STUDENTS from Rawlett Community Sports College, Tamworth, have raised £305.72 for the Trust after taking part in a number for fundraising activities including sponsored walks, a sponsored silence and car washing.

The youngsters are seen below presenting a cheque to active fundraiser Anne Devenney who raises funds for The Trust through Cameron's Smile.

 WELL done to H R Trust Treasurer Howard Ingleby and friend Jason Miller for completing the 550km Skyline London to Paris Charity Cycle Ride and raising thousands of pounds for The Trust.

Howard has raised over £9,000 whilst Jason has raised £1,145.58. Fantastic!

AIR traffic control assistant Nicola Wilkes has raised over £1200 after taking part in the Great Midlands Fun Run.

Nicola, who admits to not doing any exercise since leaving school, took 1 hour 27 minutes to complete the run. 

"I am feeling very sore, lots of aches and pains in places I never knew existed - but it has all been worth it for the Trust," she said.

Well done, Nicola!

WINNING netball team Freds proudly display their medals after winning the Shining On Annual Netball Charity Cup in Woking.

The tournament was organised by Sherrie Bennett and raised a fantastic £830. A total of 12 teams took part.

Sherrie said: "The day went extremely well and we had great support from everybody!

"The event is held in special memory of Declan to help raise awareness of HLH.  I am organising this tournament as a way of keeping his memory alive and ensuring he will never be forgotten."

2010

SPEEDY Owen Thoms has raised a fantastic £430 after taking part in the Junior North Run.

Owen, who has also competed in this race for the last three years, has now raised an amazing £2500 for The Trust. Well Done Owen!

FRIENDS and relatives of Sherrie and Paul Bennett enjoyed a spectacular evening when they attended the Summer Breeze Hog Roast and raised over £4,000 for The H R Trust. The evening was held in memory of Sherrie and Paul's son Declan.

Sherri organised the evening with Declan's teacher Nikki Leader. In addition to some fantastic food, guests enjoyed a live band. However,  the highlight of the evening was when five lanterns were lit and floated off into the sky to celebrate what would have been Declan's fifth birthday.

Sherrie said: "The evening went super well and we had 200 guests. We did a slide show of Declan so that we could get the message across, as the evening was not only about Declan's birthday but also to raise money. It seemed to touch so many people's hearts."

Sherrie and Paul have set up fundraising group Shining On to raise money for research.

SPEEDY Lisa Wolf has raised over £300 for The H R Trust  after taking part in the 2010 Adidas Women's 5km Challenge in Hyde Park. Lisa took only 30 minutes to complete the run. Well done!

Lisa took part in the run in memory of her nephew Declan Bennett.

VICKI Russell, along with family and friends, has raised a staggering £2,319.40 after taking part in a nine and a half hour sponsored walk in the Hull and Hornsea areas.

The walk was dedicated to Vicki's grand-daughter, six-year-old Casey, who has recently been diagnosed with LCH.

BEARDED duo Mike Betty and Dean Harris finally shaved off their beards at the annual Abersychan RFC and Abersychan Angels rugby match in aid of The H R Trust and raised a fantastic £768.

The rugby event, organised by Mike and his wife Beth, saw men v women with Abersychan RFC winning. The highlight of the day was the beard shaving. Beth added: "I couldn't wait to get Mike's beard off because he looked so scruffy!"

The couple are hoping to hold their next event, a cricket match, on Friday September 3rd.

LITTLE Alex MacKay enjoyed the Scottish sunshine at grandparents Sandra and John MacKay's Garden Party and helped raise £1,250 for The H R Trust. About 80 people attended the annual event.

Six-year-old Alex, who suffered LCH as a baby and toddler, is described by Sandra as a wonderful young lady who is now a healthy just about to be seven-year-old. 

Sandra added: "We had a wonderful day with the sun shining from early morning right through until evening. We had a wonderful turnout and as usual people were very generous."

TANYA Maria Zangerle has raised a fantastic £401 after taking part in a sponsored walk around the Isle of Cumbrae, Scotland. The 11-mile walk took three and a half hours to complete. Partner Tom kept Tanya company by cycling alongside. Well Done Tanya!
